The weekend gets an early start as the Minnesota Golden Gophers and Colgate Raiders open their series at 2 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. CT this afternoon at Class of 1965 Arena in Hamilton, NY.

USA Hockey's My Why Tour opens tonight in Allentown, PA
Women's National Team vs. Canada at 7:30 p.m. ET / 6:30 p.m. CT

Game two on Monday, Oct. 25 – Both games on NHL Network

USA Hockey's My Why Tour presented by Toyota opens tonight (Friday, October 22) with the first of several games between the U.S. Women's National Team and Canada. The contest will be played at the PPL Center in Allentown, PA, with puck drop scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET / 6:30 p.m. CT. The game will be televised live on NHL Network.

The two teams will meet again this coming Monday, October 25, at Hartford, Connecticut's XL Center. Game time is set for 7 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. CT, with television coverage also on NHL Network.

Tickets on sale for USA vs. Canada in St. Paul on December 20 – The two national teams will be coming to the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul on Monday night, December 20, at 7 p.m. CT. Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster. If you cannot attend the game, it is set to be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network.

More games announced – The My Why Tour schedule is also showing a three-game series between Team USA and Russia. Those contests are scheduled to be played in Belfast, Northern Ireland at SSE Arena on November 9, 11 & 12. We will share more details as they become available.

Hockey Canada announced yesterday its schedule of four games they will host against Team USA. Those contests are planned for Sunday, Nov. 21 in Kingston, ON; Tuesday, Nov. 23 in Ottawa, ON; Monday, Jan. 3 in Edmonton, AB; and Thursday, Jan. 6 in Red Deer, AB. Television coverage details are to be announced.


Univ. of Minnesota to celebrate 50 years of women's athletics

While we recognize 2021-2022 as the 25th competitive season of the Gopher Women's Hockey program and the 20th year of action at Ridder Arena, initial plans for celebrating 50 years of women's athletics at the University of Minnesota were announced by the school on Wednesday.

Special events will occur at this weekend's Gopher soccer and volleyball matches, with more planned as the academic year progresses. The university has also set up a special Celebrating 50 Years of Gopher Women Varsity Athletics website with interviews, historical look-backs, recent alumna news, and information on related programs and university facilities.
