The University of Minnesota announced on Wednesday, August 16, that Gopher Women's Hockey head coach Brad Frost signed a contract extension that will keep him on the team's bench through the 2020-2021 season.

“I want to thank President Kaler and Athletic Director Mark Coyle for their continued belief in me, my staff, and our women's hockey program,” Frost said, as shared in the press release from the U.  “I have shared many times that there is no better program and university to work for.  My goal is to continue impacting the lives of our current student athletes and future players.  We will develop them as hockey players but, more importantly, develop them as people.”

Frost has a career 319-53-27 (.833) record as the Gopher head coach, and has not had a team finish lower than second in the WCHA.  He has combined that with 4 national championships (2012, 2013, 2015, and 2016), two AHCA Coach of the Year awards (2013 and 2014), four WCHA Coach of the Year honors (2008, 2009, 2013 and 2014), and the perfect 41-0-0 season in 2012-2013.

We send congratulations to Coach Frost and look forward to see the squad in action in a little over a month.
