Stecklein, Pannek named First Team CCM All-Americans

Gopher women's hockey senior Lee Stecklein and junior Kelly Pannek were named to the CCM Hockey All-American First Team, as chosen by members of the American Hockey Coaches Association and announced last night at the NCAA Frozen Four Banquet.

Stecklein moved up to the First Team this season after having been a Second Team All-American each of the past two years. She becomes the fifth Gopher to receive First or Second Team honors three times, joining Natalie Darwitz, Krissy Wendell, Noora Räty, and Hannah Brandt.

Pannek was recognized as an All-American for the first time in her collegiate career.

Barlow named NCAA Elite 90 Award winner

We also send congratulations out to Gopher sophomore Anna Barlow, who received the NCAA Elite 90 Award for the 2017 Women's Frozen Four.

The Elite 90 Award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA’s 90 championships. Barlow has a 3.922 GPA during her time at the University of Minnesota, becoming the first GWH player to win the award since it was introduced in 2009-2010.
